my jeans are too tight

cupcake cups: HEMA
Ok, so I figure out half my jeans have become too tight and what do I do: bake some cupcakes. Yeah, that's totally logic.

Just my go-to chocolate dough with some peanutbutter on top this time:
Mix 1 Egg, 100g Butter and 100g sugar together. Add 2 teaspoons of baking powder, a bit of salt, 200g flour and 3-5 Tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder (depending on how chocolate-y you'd like your cupcakes). To soften the dough, add about 100ml milk. Bake at 200°C for about 20 minutes.
Voilá, nothing fancy, but soo good!
By the way, I think those cupcake forms are actually ice cream cups, but they work anyways.

millefleurs

Ok, so has this silently become a food blog here? I don't really know. But I must say, I really love how this cake turned out. I used this recipe in a cake form, made some buttercream frosting and spread it all over the cake and finally covered it in a thin layer of white fondant. Then I cut out the pink blossoms from pink fondant to decorate the cake (and hide the not-so-pretty bottom part of the cake).
By the way: sorry for the bad pictures. I was in a rush... all those blossoms took longer than I expected...

very berry

You can add your favourite vanilla cream cheese frosting, if you like, or leave them as they are.

 Because it's Valentines... obviously

a better place

Things that make the world a better place
This is the theme of the Couch Blog Star Award. When I heard this, I immediately thought about: baking!
I don't know about you, but whenever I'm in a bad mood or I need some cheering up, I head straight to my kitchen and start baking. Cookies, cupcakes, muffins, or even a rainbow cake you name it. It feels so rewarding to create something so pretty and tasty.
So on one grey and cold January sunday I tried tiny little tartes au citròn. They were incredibly delicious!

It may not be the fastest treat you can make, but so worth it!

By the way: I hear so many people have problems with meringue. I somehow never had. In my experience the most  important part is that the egg whites are really cool (refrigerated for at least 1 day).

blueberry meringue

I got some tartelette forms for christmas that I wanted to try out yesterday. I can't believe how delicious these turned out to be! Make sure to try them when they're still warm.

pumpkin bread

Every year in the fall I can't wait to get home to the north of Germany, where they sell pumpkin bread. This year I couldn't bring home enough of it, so I decided to make my own.
This was the first bread I ever made and, apart from burning it a little, I was pretty pleased.
In case you wanna give pumpkin bread a try, I put down the recipe for you. (Let me know if you like it!)
The recipe is for 2 big or 1 giant loaf of bread, so if you want a smaller portion, divide the ingredients by half.
This bread is a sweet bread that tastes best fresh out of the oven, still a little warm, with just some butter. Later I love it for breakfast with either chocolate sprinkles or cheese.

white magic

Ok, there have been way too many cakes recently, I know. But as I told you, I love (roasted) maroni. So when I found this pretty cake, I had to try it. And it definetely made it into my top 10!
Check out the wonderful blog Photisserie for more. So many recipes I'd like to try. And beautiful photography! But I guess it's better for my hips if I take a little break now...
