Marni and me

coat: Marni; scarf: Vero Moda; bag: H&M

Here's an outfit from a few weeks ago, when I was at a conference. This Marni coat is one of my very few designer pieces, and was this years birthday gift from A.
By the way: I'm really excited about the H&M Divided Grey collection coming out next week. How about you?

white collar

source unknown, please comment if you know

I've always loved simple black & white outfits, but ever since I discovered Downton Abey, I've been obsessed with the costumes. But as much as I appreciate Lady Marys gorgeous gowns, It's the servant's uniforms that inspire me most. Just look at those fine little white collars, often made from dainty lace.

I am in love with that Stefanel sweater!
In Paris, I saw a lot of women wearing all black outfits with white collars. Maybe that fueled this obsession.

Bonjour Paris

The last weekend was spent in the beautiful city of Paris.
I have to confess to you that I must be the worst fashion blogger ever. Despite of it beeing fashion week, I did not try to visit any of the shows, nor did I shoot any streestyles. In fact, I did not even go shopping except for souvenirs.
I KNOW!!!
My only excuse is that I had never been to Paris before, and there were so many things I wanted to do and see, that I wasn't even able to fit everything into our tight schedule.
However, there was one fashion-related event I joined, that I will tell you about in a few weeks.
Here are my favourite impressions of the city.

By the way, as a personal note, when visiting the Père Lachaise cemetery, which is truly beautiful, I was really saddened by the disrespect so many people show to the graves there. While paying respect to one person, like James Morrison, they are literally stepping on the graves of other people to have a better view. Or they even write messages on neighbouring graves. Why can't they show the same respect they pay to the person they came for to all other people lying there?

white magic

Ok, there have been way too many cakes recently, I know. But as I told you, I love (roasted) maroni. So when I found this pretty cake, I had to try it. And it definetely made it into my top 10!
Check out the wonderful blog Photisserie for more. So many recipes I'd like to try. And beautiful photography! But I guess it's better for my hips if I take a little break now...

tarte au citron

Loving this nude and yellow french manicure. Somehow reminds me of tarte au citron...
The dress is Marc O'Polo by the way.

pumpkin soup

There are 2 things that I am impatiently waiting for every year at the end of summer, and that is pumpkins and roasted maroni.
I just love this pumpkin soup with some fluffy baguette!

chocolate and raspberry

yes, I've been baking a lot recently

beatles birthday

Over my blogging break, I celebrated my birthday. This year, I decided to thow a Beatles themed Party. While I really love the band and listen to them a lot, I have to admit the main reason I wanted to choose this theme was this party. I mean, just look at that cool girl, those tiny cardboard guitars etc. I have to confess, I used a lot of their ideas, like the abbey road sign, the songtext banners, and the concert ticket inspired invitation (as you can tell from my pictures). But I also added some Beatles LPs (actually I faked those from other thrifted LPs) and made up geat names for the food. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures, so you'll have to use your imagination.
♫ Octopus Garden salad
♫ Norwegian Wood spinach quiche
♫ Yellow Submarine pumpkin soup
♫ Magical Mystery Muffins
♫ Across the Universe cheese selection
♫ Strawberry Fields Forever eton mess

Other Ideas that I did not use:
♫ Apple Records tarte
♫ Sgt. Pepper (Dr. Pepper)
♫ Lucys Diamonds Chocolate Cake
and I'm sure one could come up with a lot more

Do you guys like to thow themed partys as well?

O in B

sweater: Zara; skirt: All Saints; sandals: Massimo Dutti

I snapped this picture of my lovely O while visiting her in Berlin
As always, I'm so inspired by her style
I should show you her appartment one day, too, if she'll let me

salt and wind

The salt has long been washed out of my hair; you'll find no more sand in my shoes. Summer has slowly faded, but I can still smell the salty air, hear the steady sound of the waves, feel the salty breeze in my hair, playing, taking my thoughts and carrying them out to the sea.

I had a wonderful time away, trying to catch some waves, eating delicious cake, falling in love with Berlin again, feeling small in Hamburg and spying on gorgeous old houses.

3 places I visited and can absolutely recommend:
❤ Princess Cheesecake in Berlin (I'm sure you all know it) for its delicious cakes and beautiful design
❤ Café Paris in Hamburg for it's authentic atmosphere and also delicious cakes
❤ Alice in the Wonderland of Art exhibition in Hamburg for a world of wonder

lazy days

pictures by me

summer has been beautiful these days
after-work splashes in the lake - riding my bike barefeet - dinner at the cozy french brasserie - watching the stars by the river
And there's even more fun to come. I'll be in Berlin and by the ocean the next weeks. So please bear with me a little longer, and enjoy the summer.

It's been a long time

I couldn't believe my eyes yesterday at the swede.
But now, after 3 months, I finally got my hands on that awesome necklace

there's a new girl in town

It seems like skating really is the latest hype (and I was jumping on the bandwagon without even knowing)
There is an awesome new blog called the skartoralist capturing skater outfits, and even Rumi was snapped carrying a deck.

summer project

I've been wanting to learn how to skate and to surf for what seems like forever. This summerI finally decided to give it a shot. I must admit, skating is a lot harder that I thought it would be. And I'm guessing surfing will be even worse.
But so what!

Here's to a summer of bruised legs!

(And maybe, just maybe, in like 10 years I will be as cool as the girl in the 2nd picture)

Do you have a summer project, too?
